The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has published an official notification of UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor June 2024.

Eligible and interested candidates can apply by accessing the NTA website at csirnet.nta.ac.in.

The application process has already begun and the last date to apply for the post is May 21, 2024.

The last date for successful transaction of Examination fee is May 22 to May 23.

The correction window of the application form is likely to open from May 25 to May 27.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for JRF must not be more than 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. June, 2024. 

A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL. However, there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor and Admission to PhD.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or its equivalent, such as an Integrated BS-MS, a four-year BS, a BE, a BTech, a BPharma, or an MBBS degree, with a minimum of 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates, and 50% for SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.

Application Fee

  • General: Rs 1,150

  • General-EWS/OBC(NCL): Rs 600

  • SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: Rs 325

Examination Pattern

The Examinations will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The Test will consist of three parts. All the parts will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.

Medium of Examination

The Paper will be in bilingual i.e. Hindi and English. Candidates are required to answer in the medium as per option exercised in the Application Form. In case of any ambiguity between Hindi and English version due to translation, English version would be treated as final.
