There will be no respite from extremely heat conditions as the maximum (day temperature) is likely to be above normal in different parts of Odisha, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre, the maximum temperature will be above 3 to 4 degree Celsius at many places of the state in the next three days.

“Due to high surface humidity, discomfort in weather is likely to prevail over districts of coastal Odisha,” tweeted IMD’s Regional Centre. Weather forecast and warnings:

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Deogarh.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore.

Day-3  (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha
