Police raid illegal firecracker factory in Mayurbhanj
In an action mode operation, Karanjia police on Sunday carried out a raid on an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit located at Kurulia village in Mayurbhanj district.
As per reports, a large quantity of firecrackers was seized from the spot by the police.
During this operation, as many as three individuals involved in the illegal production of firecrackers have been arrested and are currently under investigation by the police.
The police action came in the wake of a major explosion that occurred on September 9 at Bhimada village under Barasahi Police Station, causing significant damage and raising serious concerns about illegal firecracker manufacturing activities.

Following the explosion, the police have intensified raids in various locations across the district to curb the illegal production and storage of firecrackers.
Earlier a couple of days back, a woman was critically injured in an explosion inside a house in Bhimada village.
The incident took place early in the morning while a woman and her husband were allegedly engaged in manufacturing firecrackers inside their house. The explosion was so severe that the roof of the outhouse belonging to villager Shatrughan Mandal was blown off, while its walls collapsed under the impact.
