A brief spell of thunderstorm lashed twin cities on Thursday. It was the second time that Cuttack and Bhubaneswar experienced rainfall activities this season.

On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph in one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Puri, Dhenkanal in 24 hours.

In its latest weather bulletin, the cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persists and under its influence, a Low Pressure area is likely to form over the same region around May 6.

As per IMD, It is very likely to move north-westwards and intensify gradually into a Depression during the subsequent 48 hours.
