Dhanush's 50th film 'Raayan' starts strong at the box office, collecting Rs 12.5 crore on Day 1. The Tamil version earned Rs 11 crore, while the Telugu version garnered Rs 1.5 crore. With global earnings hitting Rs 22 crores, the film has been well-received by both critics and audiences.

Versatile actor and Tamil superstar Dhanush’s 50th film ‘Raayan’ has started off to a good start with a decent collection at the box office on its opening day. As per Sacnilk report, the film collected around Rs 12.5 crore across all languages on Day 1.

Out of this, the Tamil version collected a whopping Rs 11 crore while the remaining Rs 1.5 crore came from Telugu tickets. On its worldwide gross, the film made around Rs 22+ crores on its opening day. The action-drama features Dhanush as ‘Kathavaraayan Raayan’, a man who is on a journey to avenge an attack on his family.

Dhanush both directed and acted in the film. It is his second directorial project after his 2017 film ‘Pa Paandi’. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep kishan and Kalidas Jayaram in pivotal roles.

The film opened to good reviews and good word of mouth from critics and audiences alike. Fans on social media hailed the Dhanush starrer and labelled it as extraordinarily well-crafted.
