Vastu principles used in architectural designs improve well-being, success, and vitality, and bring prosperity while creating a calm and enlightened environment for living or working.

Getting the most lavish interiors for each space of their houses is something that people like doing.

If you are all set to construct a new house or want to set up a water tank in your house, it is very important to follow basic Vastu tips.

Basically, there are 2 types of water tanks. Some are built underground while others are on the roof or the overhead tanks.

Underground water tank –

  • The best place for an underground water tank is the northeast corner. It should be constructed in such a way that it should not touch the eastern and northern walls.

  • If the underground water tank is constructed in the southwest or southeast direction; all members of the house will suffer from constant threats of diseases.

  • If the underground water tank is in the northwest direction, then there will be confusion in the house.

  • If the underground water tank is in the south direction, then women of the house will be affected by diseases.

  • If the underground water tank is in the west, then the men of the house will be afflicted with diseases.

Rooftop Water Tank –

Since the water tank on the roof is the heaviest thing in the house, the size of the water tank and how many people will use it are calculated. According to Vastu Shastra, the best place for a rooftop water tank is south-west corner. If it is difficult to build a water tank in this place, it can be done in the west or south but under no circumstances it can be built in the north-east corner.

  • If there is a water tank in the northeast corner, the wealth of the people living in the house gets stuck.

  • If there is a water tank in the east, the ability of men to work is reduced. It is the root cause of loss of wealth and loss of hope.

  • If the water tank is located in the south-east, there is a possibility of disease and theft.

  • If the water tank is in the north-west, the wealth of the householders will be destroyed.

  • If the water tank is in the north direction, mental distress increases and women will have health problems.

  • When building a water tank on the roof, 4 pillars should always be placed on top of the roof.

Wells and Tube wells

When settling in any place, there must be a source of water. In order to retain water in the dwelling house, one has to use either natural means or mechanical methods. There is a need for a well or tube well. If these wells or wells are dug properly, the household will be better off.

  • The direction of digging a well or tube well is the east or east-north angle.

  • If there is difficulty in digging, it can be done in north or east direction, but not in any other direction.

  • The shape of underground wells should be square, rectangular, or circular.

  • No well or tube well should be dug in the house when any woman is pregnant.

  • The location of the well should be such that at least 6 hours of sunlight should fall inside the well during the day.

  • While drawing water from the well, the face of the drawer should be towards north or south

  • If there is a well in the south-east, there will be unrest and quarrels in the house.

  • If there is a well in the south, there is a risk of loss of wealth and fear of fire and theft

  • If there is a well in the south-west direction, there is fear of premature death, illness and suicide.

  • If there is a well in the south-west direction, there will be debts and women will be ill and ill-tempered.

  • If there is a well in the centre of the house and in the place of breathing, it creates a very dangerous situation.
