Stray cattle and other domestic animals roaming nonchalantly on roads are a problem across India. There have been numerous accidents because of this, some turning out to be fatal as well.

Recently, a Kia Seltos dashboard camera captured a similar live accident that attracted attention from social media users. The accident demonstrates how these animals endanger the security of cars travelling on public roads.

The driver could not really see the cow crossing the divider because of the thick plantation on the divider. Without any reaction time, the cow hits the right-hand side of the Kia Seltos damaging its door and fender. However, the cabin of the vehicle remains intact and there are no injuries to the people traveling in it.

The Kia Seltos's rear dashboard camera reveals that in addition to the cow, a calf also crossed the street. The cars following them braked just in time to prevent a crash after the cattle went down on the road. Then the calf and the cow stood up and fled the area.

Thankfully, the Seltos was driving at 65 kmph, way below the speed limit on the Highway which is 80 kmph, which helped them escape with minor dents and scratches.

It is always safe to drive defensively on the Indian roads and be assured of the road ahead before overtaking. Many recorded incidents in the past have shown that blindly overtaking can cause massive accidents, especially on Indian roads that are very unpredictable.
