The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has successfully come to an end with Australia securing their sixth title after thrashing India with 6 wickets in the finale. The Pat Cummins-led team has become the first non-hosting nation since 2007 to lift the World Cup Trophy after the remarkable win.

Despite losses in the initial league games, Australia made their comeback and finally lifted the World Cup. All-rounder Maxwell was among the few Australian players who played with full grit and made sure that his team reached the Finale.
Happy with his performance, India’s run-machine Virat Kohli gifted his jersey to his IPL teammate Glenn Maxwell. They both met and were seen sharing a tight hug after the match.

ICC shared an adorable picture of the two hugging and wrote, “Respect and admiration 💛💙 #CWC23.”

Virat Kohli was left heartbroken after the World Cup loss as it is expected to be his last World Cup. Although, he has been part of the 2011 World Cup team, India’s performance during the league and knockout games had fans expecting that India would lift the World Cup Trophy this year.

However, despite winning all the 10 matches in the tournament, India suffered a humiliating loss in the Finale.

A fan wrote, “Only Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans can better understand this pain 💔🥺”

“Feel so bad for Virat Kohli,” shared another user.

“I just can’t believe that India lost to Australia. It is so hard to accept that,” a third user wrote.
