A high level of excitement is running among the fans of both the countries as arch-rivals India and Pakistan will lock horns in a high-octane clash of the ongoing Asia Cup at Pallekele on Saturday.

The intense rivalry between both the countries goes back more than 70 years when India and Pakistan played their first match in October 1952 after the horrific partition.

In the Asia Cup, the Men in Blue have mostly dominated against Pakistan. The arch-rivals have clashed among themselves 13 times in the tournament. While India won seven times, Pakistan won five times. One match ended without any result. The last five encounters in the Asia Cup have been disastrous for Pakistan as India have won four times out of the five.

In Asia Cup 2018, India put up a dominating display to defeat Pakistan by nine wickets in Dubai which is by far the most impressive victory of the Indian team against their neighbors. Virat Kohli's magnificent 183 against Pakistan remains the highest individual score by any batsman in the Asia Cup.

However, in the current edition of the Asia Cup, Pakistan have emerged as a strong team. They are expected to give the Men in Blue a tough challenge. Many experts and fans are of the opinion that the fight will be between India’s batting vs Pakistan’s bowling.
