Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly preparing to advertise for team India’s new head coach. The initiative will potentially mark the end of current head coach Rahul Dravid’s illustrious tenure at the helm.

Dravid’s contract is nearing its end. As a result, the BCCI is now tasked with a huge challenge of finding a worthy successor to guide the Indian cricket team into the future. The new head coach will be appointed for a three-year term extending up to 2027 ODI World Cup. He will face a tough task to coach the Indian team carrying expectations for billion people.

Current head coach Dravid has the option to reapply for the position. However, as per sources, Dravid is unlikely to do so. The former great will potentially pave the way for a fresh perspective and a new era in Indian cricket. The BCCI has left the door open for both Indian and foreign candidates, ensuring a comprehensive search for the ideal candidate to guide the team to new heights.

Moreover, the appointment of the new head coach will also trigger a reshuffle in the coaching staff, with the batting, bowling, and fielding coaches set to be determined in consultation with the incoming lead.
