Sanju Samson
Explosive wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson didn’t find a place in the Indian team for the first ODI match against hosts West Indies on Thursday.
Ishan Kishan was asked to keep the wickets instead of Samson. Kishan also repaid the trust shown by the management on him by scoring a brilliant half-century after opening the batting for India during the modest run chase of 115.
However, several fans were unhappy over Samson’s exclusion from the playing XI. Joining the bandwagon, former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Subramaniam Badrinath took a sly dig at Team India management for ignoring the talented cricketer in the first ODI.
“Badrinath shared a photo of Suryakumar Yadav on Twitter, in which Surya was seen wearing Samson’s jersey during the match. Badrinath captioned it, “Looks like the only way Sanju can find a place in the XI”.

It is expected that India will return to its set batting order in the second ODI against hosts West Indies as the Men in Blue aim to put up a much-improved show to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
