Suryakumar Yadav wears Sanju Samson’s jersey
Fans of Sanju Samson were quiet upset over wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson’s exclusion from the Indian team in the first ODI against West Indies on Thursday.
However, there was some solace for the fans as Suryakumar Yadav was wearing Samson’s jersey on the ground. Surya scored just 19 runs in the match. But looking at Surya wearing Samson’s jersey, his fans were not happy. But there was reason why Surya was not wearing his own jersey.
As per reports, the jersey that Surya received was not of his size. He received a medium sized jersey instead of large. He went on and managed to do a photoshoot wearing it. However, playing in that jersey would have been uncomfortable for the explosive batter. Hence, he wore that of Samson.
There might be more surprise for fans if they watch Surya wearing Samson’s jersey again in the 2nd ODI. His large size jersey will reach him only after the 2nd ODI.
“There was some size issue with Surya’s jersey. We were told about it just two days before the game. He will be receiving his new jersey after the second ODI as the BCCI has shipped it with Indian team players selected for the T20 series. Till then Surya will be wearing his teammate’s jersey while playing,” said a BCCI official.
