At a time when the political atmosphere in the Khaira-Simulia constituency remains on the edge ahead of the crucial 2024 general elections, a young doctor has quit his job to enter politics in the Balasore district.

The young paediatrician, Braja Sundar Swain of Simulia is keen to contest the upcoming polls. Knowing that it will be a herculean task as well as a big gamble, Swain has already made up his mind to serve people by entering politics.

“For any region’s development, there is a need for better education, health care, and an end to corruption. Being a doctor, I was also only able to work in the health sector. To contribute towards education and eradicate corruption, I have decided to enter the field of politics,” said Swain.

According to Swain, politics is a platform where one can contribute towards the development of the area as it comes with some administrative powers.

“In the Khaira-Simulia area, there has been no major development. Here the leaders forgot about the area and concentrated on their own development,” said Swain.

When asked which party he is keen to work with, Swain said that he is inspired by the ideology and works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under Prime Minister Modi’s governance, India has scaled new heights.
