A phalanx of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) heavyweights have been visiting Odisha to canvas for the party’s candidates. While party chief JP Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Odisha on Thursday, Union Minister Smriti Irani is scheduled to visit the state on Saturday. 

As per party sources, she will attend three election meetings. Her first meeting will be at Kujanga in Paradip and the second one will be at Aul in Kendrapara. Her third meeting will be at Remuna in Balasore. According to sources, Smriti Irani will create awareness on the party’s Subhadra Yojana under which every woman will get a cash voucher of Rs 50,000.

Informing about Smriti Irani's itinerary, BJP's state vice president Golak Mohapatra said, “Under the Subhadra Yojana, the Bharatiya Janata Party will send a voucher of Rs 50,000 to all women in Odisha. No matter how many women are there in a family. They can use this money to be self-reliant. To make women aware of this yojana, Union Minister Smriti Irani is coming to Odisha tomorrow. She will attend three meetings at three different places. Her three meetings will be held at Kujanga, Aul and Remuna.” 

Her Odisha visit will definitely bring success to the party in the fourth phase of elections, Mohapatra added.
