Pradeep Pattanayak

A day after the Congress announced his name for the Begunia Assembly seat, Pruthvi Ballav Patnaik, son of former Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, on Monday launched a veiled attack on the BJP and BJD.

Training his gun at the leaders of both parties, Patnaik said after winning elections, the leaders are making themselves scarce.
“After winning the election, Raja Sahu (BJD’s Rajendra Kumar Sahoo) visited the constituency once in a blue moon. Here the people are fed up because they are not able to see their leader,” said Patnaik.

“People love us because they can’t forget my father late Janaki Ballabh Patnaik for the work he did. His door would remain open for one and all and he would treat them as members of his family,” he said.

“One thing I want to say is that I am with the people and will be with them in the days to come,” he added.

Former Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik won twice from the constituency.

Notably, the BJP and the BJD are yet to announce their candidates for the seat.

No reactions were received from the BJD and BJP.
