No unanimous decision on the rate of Mahaprasad in Puri Srimandir could be made at the disciplinary committee meeting held on Wednesday.

However, other decisions were taken in the meeting, which was headed by the Special Administrator, Ajay Kumar Jena held at the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office in Puri.

Other decisions included appointment of two assistants to help Suar and Mahasuar servitors in Anand Bazaar, where the Mahaprasad is sold. Apart from that a help desk will be set up for the devotees and emphasis will be given on cleanliness.

A permanent shed will also be made over Anand Bazaar after removing the polythene sheets.

It is pertinent to mention here that the non-suar servitors have already been ousted from Anand Bazaar.

Informing about the meeting, the Secretary of Suar Mahasuar Nijog, Narayan Mahasuar said, “A resolution has been passed to prepare the Mahaprasad with good quality ghee. We have also discussed to provide drinking water to the devotees at Anand Bazaar. However, the rate of Abadha (Mahaprasad) could not be finalised in today’s meeting.”

In July this year, the SJTA had decided to display the rate chart of Mahaprasad at Ananda Bazaar in Srimandir for the devotees.
