Actor Ranveer Singh recently shared insights into his career ups and downs during his appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8’ with his lovely wife Deepika Padukone.

Ranveer Singh acknowledged a challenging period in his career when his three consecutive films, ‘83,’ ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar,’ and ‘Cirkus,’ faced setbacks as major flops. He candidly addressed these disappointments, stating, "I went through a lot, especially after 'Cirkus' (2022)."

Reflecting on his 2021 release ‘83,’ where he portrayed the legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev, Singh discussed how the pandemic impacted the film. He explained, ‘Coming out of the pandemic, we had this lovely film '83' (2021) which everybody loved. It just released at the wrong time. 48 hours before the release, we lost key markets because they all shut down due to Omicron. Unfortunately, a lovely film had the stigma of being a commercial underperformer.’

In 2022, his first release was the social comedy ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar,’ which didn't meet box office expectations. Singh shared his perspective on why the film faced challenges, noting, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar was again, a lovely, well-intentioned film, which ultimately found its audience on streaming, which, in the post-pandemic climate, is where it belongs.’

Lastly, ‘Cirkus’ was dubbed one of the worst movies of the previous year when it was released in December 2022. Discussing the film's performance, Ranveer Singh commented, "In 'Cirkus,' I had limited contribution and limited responsibility. So, I can't really beat myself up over it. Having said that, I had not seen three major flops in a row. So, it was new to me, and I wasn't at my best, especially three months after 'Cirkus.'"

Despite these career setbacks, Ranveer Singh expressed that he came to terms with the challenges and emerged from them with a deep sense of gratitude. He stated, ‘ have come out of it with more gratitude in my heart than ever before. I look at my life and I see blessings and abundance. I'm still here, doing what I love for a living. I look at my life and only see blessings.’

In the same episode, Ranveer and Deepika Padukone shared a never-before-seen footage from their enchanting wedding making the fans emotional.

Notably, Ranveer and Deepika had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy in 2018.
