From MS Dhoni biopic to Ek Villain sequel, a sneak peek into Disha Patani's career graph

Disha Patani, the heart crush of millions of Indians celebrates her birthday today. In a career of almost 8 years, Disha has seen lots of ups and downs but she is yet to enjoy the level of stardom that most of her colleagues like Kiara Advani or Alia Bhatt have reached. She made her debut in 2015 in the film industry with a Telugu film titled Loafer which featured Varun Tej in the lead. The movie was a big flop but Disha caught the attention of Bollywood film producers with her innocent face, elegance, and svelte figure.

Her first introduction to the Bollywood audience was through a dance video titled Befikra in which she starred alongside the new Bollywood entrant Tiger Shroff. Her first official Bollywood movie was the superhit biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which starred Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role and the movie was a very big hit. She was also part of Jackie Chan’s movie Kung Fu Yoga with Sonu Sood in the lead.

Her next break came with Baaghi 2 which featured her former rumoured boyfriend Tiger Shroff as the hero. Incidentally, the first movie from Baaghi franchise also starred Tiger and had Shraddha Kapoor as the main actor. Baaghi 2 was a big hit grossing more than 200 million worldwide and is one of the biggest hits of Disha Patani’s career to date.

In the last few years she has worked in a few movies like Bharat with Salman Khan, Malaang with Aditya Roy Kapur, Radhe with Salman Khan and Ek Villain Returns with Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham. But none of them helped her the gain superstar status that she has been looking for.

However, Disha still has a lot of good opportunities on her hand. She has already wrapped up shooting for Karan Johar-produced Yodha alongside Sidharth Malhotra and is making her Tamil debut soon with Suriya’s next. Disha Patani has also grabbed an important role in Nag Ashwin’s Project K which has a big star cast of Deepika Padukone , Prabhas, and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.

Apart from movies, Disha has been actively earning through commercials, fashion shows, and also by going on tours with other popular Bollywood stars overseas.
