The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked universities and their affiliated colleges/institutions to participate in the IEPFA-NEVSA – Niveshak Evam Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan.

IEPFA-NEVSA is being organised by the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority under Ministry of Corporate Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

In its latest notice, UGC has said that NEVSA would be a three month campaign and proposes involving National Service Scheme (NSS). The proposed ‘Action Plan’ for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) has also been released.

“The objective of this campaign is to utilise the student community to spread investor awareness messages. Student community may act as a vehicle of change and propagate the Investor Awareness Messages. The aim is to involve these young people, wherein, while acting as catalyst, they will themselves learn the benefits and rise with a solid foundation for building sound financial behaviour,” the UGC notice read.

Action Plan:

500 Institutions (high school/colleges/ Institutions) from 500 select cities in Semi Urban /urban areas can be identified by the Ministry of Education for the said initiative.

Sending advisories to various institutions for organising individual competitions NSS volunteers and students of various Universities/ colleges/ Institutions would be allowed to upload picture, mobile videos of the activities, undertaken by them during the campaign.

Institution /Colleges/High schools with maximum registration and students may be distributed cash prizes and trophies.
