The National Testing Agency on Thursday released the result for the session 2 of JEE Main 2024 on its official website. As many as 56 students have scored an impressive 100 percentile with a farmer’s son Gajare Nilkrishna Nirmalkumar topping the prestigious exam.

Despite several challenges and financial constraints, Nilkrishna has scored a perfect 300 out of 300 score in the JEE Main exam. Hailing from Maharashtra, Nilkrishna’s father is a farmer while his mother is a homemaker, as per a report in The Free Press Journal.

Shockingly, his parents do not even know what JEE was and were shocked to know his results.

“It was shocking for me as well as my parents. While it did feel a little strange at first, my parents’ reaction changed as I explained to them,” The Free Press Journal quoted Nilkrishna.

Since his childhood, Nilkrishna grew up amidst financial constraints who also has a little sister. However, his parents never compromised on his studies and made sure he had everything that he needed for his studies.

Being a bright student, Nilkrishna started aspiring to attend IIT in the 10 grade.

“I had decided to pursue JEE and B. Tech from IIT since class 10,” said Nilkrishna who had earlier secured an impressive 97% in his Boards Exam.

While he desires to pursue B.Tech in the CS branch at IIT Mumbai, he said, “Currently, my focus is on the 12th board exams and JEE Advanced.”

Speaking about his key to success, he said that clarity of concepts alongside consistent revision and practice is crucial to clear an exam like JEE.

It might sound crazy, but he devoted 10 to 12 hours daily for self-study.

“It pains me to see my father enduring difficult conditions while I pursue my studies,” Nilkrishna said.

He strategically seeks scholarship opportunities to ease the financial strain on his family.
