Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan speaking to media
Long-anticipated queue system for darshan (Dhadi Darshan) at Jagannath Temple in Puri will commence very soon, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Sunday.
During his visit to Angul, the Minister confirmed that the process of relocating Hundi (donation boxes) from the temple premises has already begun, after obtaining necessary approval for the same.
The queue-based darshan system will be introduced within the next seven days of when the Hundi gets completely shifted. The Minister assured that the new arrangement will allow devotees to have orderly and secure darshan of the presiding deities, significantly reducing overcrowding.
This is seen as a major step toward streamlining the temple management and enhancing the overall devotee experience. Crowd control, security, and spiritual ambience are expected to improve with this transformation.
“Dhadi Darshan process will begin within seven days of the shifting of Hundi. Relocation of the donation box has already started. Requisite approval has been obtained for the shifting. The new darshan arrangement will be introduced thereafter,” the Minister said.
Worth mentioning, the Law Minister was in Angul to review some ongoing projects.
Key projects in Angul district have been delayed, and emphasis is now being given to ensure that the projects are completed on time. Officials have been instructed to ensure that these delayed projects are completed within the revised deadlines.
This year, 25 kilometres of rural roads will be constructed in each Assembly constituency segment of the State, based on priority. MLAs have been asked to identify 25 kilometres of roads that are in a very poor condition.
Once identified, the road construction work will begin immediately, and the departmental minister reviewed the progress of these action plans in Angul district. All damaged roads in the cities and towns will be repaired before Durga Puja.
The repair works will be completed by the 22nd of this month. A discussion was also held with departmental officials regarding this matter, specifically for Angul town.
