Developing good habits and putting into practice effective study skills can go a long way in helping you keep your mind focused while studying. And it's never too late to form healthy study habits, whether you're a high school or college student. 1. Establish a Schedule:

To begin with, frame a timetable on paper and pin it to the wall of your room. Give your subject a definite amount of time and be sure to take pauses. Continuously studying for several hours is never effective, and it also causes you to quickly lose focus. If not much, take at least a 5-10 minute break after studying for an hour.

2. Get rid of distractions: 

One of the major obstacles to our learning is those brought on by our electronic devices. Once you start scrolling on social media, you can end up wasting a lot of your time. To fix this problem, you must unplug yourself. You can disable your device's notifications, but if that doesn't help, try turning it off or moving it out of the room while you're studying.

3. Regular Exercise:

Some of you might think that exercise is a waste of time. But believe me, it’s not. Regular exercise not only maintains good physical health but also enhances concentration for up to two or three hours. You can also go for yoga which is excellent for de-stressing.

4. Eat Healthy: 

Eating junk or unhealthy food can badly affect your health as it has high cholesterol and poor nutritional values. And if your health is not good, you won’t be able to concentrate on your studies. Therefore, it is important to consume a diet low in sugar and rich in vegetables. Plus, do keep drinking water at regular intervals as it aids digestion and keeps you hydrated.

5. Don’t multitask:

Knocking out several things at once can lead you to lose your focus. The reason is the frequent interruption that multitasking brings shortens the brain’s ability to direct its attention. Instead, try to concentrate on one task at a time. Though there are plenty of ways by which you can improve your focus while studying, the above five suggestions are the fundamental ones with which you can start.
