Vigilance department sleuths on Friday recovered cash and other properties following raids on the residence of Danardan Sahu, Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Sri Dibyasimha Bidyapitha at Jayantipur under Jarada police limits of Ganjam district.

As per official sources, the raids were conducted on the allegations of possession of disproportionate assets.

The raids led by 4 DSPs, 12 Inspectors were conducted at 13 places in the district of Ganjam today.

Assets detected so far:

Cash Rs 3.85 Lakh.

Gold jewellery approx weighing 721 gms.

1 triple storeyed building at Anantanagar, Berhampur.

1 double storeyed building at Anantanagar, Berhampur.

1 double storeyed building at Jayantipur, Ganjam.

1 single storeyed building and 4 shops at Jayantipur, Ganjam.

1 double storeyed building at Jayantipur, Ganjam where post office is functioning.

1 market complex at Balrampur, Ganjam with 7 shops.

1 Godown at Jayantipur, Ganjam stored 200 Jaggery packets and 500 sugar packets (50 Kg each) suspected to be raw material for liquor manufacture. Role of Sahu in manufacture and sale of liquor is being verified.

2 four wheelers (Hyundai Creta & Santro Sports) worth over Rs 16 lakhs, 2 two wheelers

. Bank and other deposits are being verified.
