Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at six places including the house of Babuli Charan Padhihari, Kalarahanga panchayat Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS), on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income, on Monday.

According to reports, simultaneous searches are being conducted at his office at Kalarahanga and houses in Raghunathpur area in Bhubaneswar by teams of the anti-corruption agency led by three DSPs, 10 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

Vigilance searches are underway at Padhihari’s one triple-storey building, one double-story building, one asbestos house, native house at Raghunathpur, his flat at Ashirbad Plaza Apartment in Bhubaneswar. Besides, raids are on at his office at Kalarahanga in Bhubaneswar. 

While exact details on the raids will be known later, the Vigilance teams are said to have already laid their hands on many crucial documents related to the properties of Padhihari.

  • 59 Plots including 58 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar & 1 plot at Belgachia, Cuttack
  • Triple-storey building Raghunathpur in Bhubaneswar worth over Rs.1.24 Crore
  • 2BHK flat in Asirbad Plaza apartment, Bhubaneswar

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had recently handed down compulsory retirement to six more State government officials accused of corruption and inefficiency.

As per the data provided by the Chief Minister’s Office, the total count of officials send on compulsory retirement has reached 164 so far.
