Users encounter glitch disrupting chat navigation on WhatsApp web

Millions of WhatsApp web users are currently experiencing a frustrating scrolling glitch that prevents smooth navigation through their chat feed.

The web version of WhatsApp, which connects to the mobile app via the Linked Devices feature and now functions independently, has become an essential tool for many who want to stay connected without interrupting their workflow.

However, on Tuesday, users began reporting issues with scrolling up and down their chat history. Recent weeks have seen a series of problems for the messaging platform, including a brief outage, and now this new bug is impacting the desktop experience.

It has been found that while the mouse scroll works normally on other websites, it fails to respond properly when using WhatsApp web. This suggests the problem is specific to the platform itself. Several social media users have also raised concerns, with some speculating the issue may be related to WhatsApp’s emoji and sticker features.

Meta has yet to acknowledge or provide an official statement about the bug, though it has been observed that refreshing the WhatsApp Web browser tab temporarily restores scrolling functionality, only for it to stop working again after a short period. This strongly indicates the bug was introduced in a recent web update.

Additionally, WhatsApp continues to enhance its features, allowing users to share status updates similar to stories and snaps, with future plans to let users share them selectively with friends and contacts.
