Jaleswar BDO under Vigilance lens; multiple plots, over 1 kg silver coins detected

The Vigilance sleuths on Saturday conducted simultaneous raids on the office, residence and other properties of Aswini Kumar Das, the Block Development Officer (BDO) in Jaleswar, in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.

Based on reliable inputs, a six-member team of the vigilance department led by DSP Somnath Barik carried out the raids at Jaleswar.

Apart from Jaleswar, simultaneous searches are also being carried out on the properties linked to Aswini including his in-laws and parental house, sources said.

Detection so far:

24 Plots in prime area of Cuttack & Kendrapara district.

Triple storeyed building at Kalapada, 42 Mouza, Cuttack worth approx Rs.1.22 Crore.

Double storeyed building at Jhinkiria, Sri Krishna Vihar, 42 Mouja, Cuttack worth  Rs.1.10 Crore (approx)

One Brick Factory at Kalapada, Cuttack. Valuation of machinery accessories of Brick Factory is being done.
