Bhubaneswar:  In much relief to candidates, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi today extended the last date to apply for the GATE 2020 examination. As per the latest notification, the last date of submission of the application form without paying the late fee which was September 24 has now been extended till September 26, 2019.

The candidates who wish to apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 can still register after the deadline by paying a fine till October 1, 2019.

As per the official notification, the deadline has been increased keeping in view heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, the last date of application with normal fees has been extended up to September 26,2019.

GATE 2020 will be conducted for 25 subjects (also referred to as “papers”) and it would be distributed over 1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th of February 2020.

The GATE examination will be held in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT), official sources said.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is the minimum qualifying criteria for admission to and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies.
