Cyber fraudsters are on the prowl as Odisha is witnessing a spike in online crimes. Fraudsters are alluring people with several tempting schemes and are looting their savings. Several such cases have come to the fore in recent times posing a challenge to the Cyber Police.

Senior IPS officer Suhant Nath’s wife, a doctor by profession, lost Rs 10 lakh from her salary account which was withdrawn by unidentified cyber criminals over a period of two years.

Odisha reported online fraud to the tune of Rs 1.28 crore in August this year. The data was released by the Cyber Help Desk of Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD).
