In a shocking incident, four persons were critically injured in acid attack after a fight between two families in Bargarh Municipality area on Saturday (Dec 11). The injured identified as Manoj Soni, Geeta Devi, Gundu Bhoi and Pinku Sharma, were shifted to Burla Hospital for treatment after their condition deteriorated.

After a ragging incident was reported from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) on September 22, action has been taken against as many as 12 students. The disciplinary Committee of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) has suspended two students for two years and 10 others for one year.

Fresh allegations of ragging have surfaced at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Sambalpur. This time a third year student was allegedly ragged and thrashed by fourth year students inside the hostel in the university’s campus.

Unable to reach the hospital on time, the health condition of the patient deteriorated. The family members accompanying the patient asked the ambulance staff to take some immediate steps to shift her to the hospital. However, in the meantime, the patient died in the ambulance as another ambulance from Burla failed to reach the spot on time.
