Youth critical in arrow attack over past enmity in Odisha

A youth sustained critical injuries after being shot at with an arrow in Odisha late night on Monday.

The youth Babu Dhibar was attacked with an arrow reportedly over past enmity at Uparkhamanda village under Barkote police limits in Deogarh. 

According to sources, the youth has been admitted to Burla Hospital with the arrow still stuck inside his body. 

Neighbours of the youth managed to capture the assailant identified as Ganthi Dhibar and handed him over to police. 

As per a complaint, Babu was on way to his brother’s residence last night when Ganthi suddenly launched an arrow on the back of Babu. 

Reports said, the attack is suspected to have occurred due to a past enmity between the duo over fishing in Brahmani river. 

Wife of injured Babu, Pinky Dhibar said the accused who belongs to their own village had been harbouring anger against their family over trade dispute for quite some time. During the attack last night, he also had two more arrows with him that he would have attacked with again but intervention of local residents saved Babu’s life.
