Shah exuded confidence that the low voter turnout in the first two phases of Lok Sabha Election 2024 will not affect NDA’s ‘400 Paar’ mission and they are ‘well on track’ to achieve that.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress for inaction on sexual abuse allegations against JDS candidate Prajwal Revanna until after Lok Sabha polls. He emphasized BJP's intolerance towards women's atrocities, amidst a scandal involving explicit content linked to Revanna.
The BJP alleged that Congress is behind such doctored videos while BJD MP Nominee Pradeep Majhi has been spreading misinformation using these fake videos at the time of elections to draw political mileage.
BJP leader Balabhadra Majhi said, “This shows the shallow attitude of the BJD. The allegation made against the Home Minister is fictitious. Such allegations based on a doctored video are meant to scare people and to extract votes from them.”
Delhi Police's IFSO unit is investigating a doctored video featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which falsely portrays his stance on reservation quotas. The video has prompted actions including FIRs and requests for social media cooperation to trace its origin and spread.
At a closed-door meeting with senior leaders on Thursday, Shah asked the leaders to campaign together both for the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats which seems to be a new strategy for the saffron brigade.
BJP leader Mohan Majhi said, "The Home Minister has advised all party leaders to work with confidence. He said if the party could win polls in states with 2 to 6 per cent of votes, there would be no hurdles in Odisha, where it got 34 per cent votes in 2019."
Sounding confident about the party's poll success, Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal said, "This meeting will make an impact on 4.5 crore people in Odisha. It will give impetus to the people and party workers. In Bolangir, seven Assembly seats will be won by the BJP.”
Union Minister Amit Shah launched a strong campaign against the BJD in Odisha, promising to end labour migration and bring development if BJP wins the 2024 elections. Speaking at a rally in Sonepur, he emphasized BJP's commitment to win 20 Lok Sabha seats and form a state government for the first time.
BJP president of Sonepur district, Parmod Mohapatra said, "Thousands of party workers from Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir will come to the public meeting.”
After attending the rally, the Home Minister will stay in Bhubaneswar that day and will hold a key meeting the next day with BJP leaders and workers at the party office in Bhubaneswar to discuss the electoral strategies.
In the 2024 polls, there will be a direct contest with Naveen Patnaik in Odisha, said Amit Shah during an interview with a private news channel on Friday.
