With the electioneering gaining pace in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart and Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Odisha on April 25. He will address a public rally in Sonepur in favour of the party’s Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates that day.

This was stated by Vice President of Odisha BJP Golak Mohapatra on Saturday. The Home Minister’s visit is expected to boost the morale of the party workers and push the momentum of the political campaign against the Biju Janata Dal(BJD).

After attending the rally, Shah will stay in Bhubaneswar that day and will hold a key meeting with BJP leaders and workers at the party office in Bhubaneswar to discuss the electoral strategies.

Besides, the BJP stalwart will review the poll preparedness and activities of the party in the state.

BJP leader Golak Mohapatra said, “The Home Minister will blow the poll bugle from Sonepur. The BJP has started its fight for Odisha Asmita (pride), Maa(woman), Mati(soil) and Matrubhoomi(motherland) and on the issues of migration of Odia youths.”

Mohapatra alleged that Odia people were neglected and deceived in the rule by non-Odias while the wealth of Odisha is being carried away to other states.

“Odia youths are migrating to other states in search of jobs. In such a situation, the visit of Amit Shah assumes much importance. Shah will address the people of Odisha from Sonepur in the afternoon,” the BJP VP added.

Training his gun at the BJD, Mohapatra alleged that programmes and schemes of the Central government do not reach the eligible people and the BJD is hijacking the Central schemes for its credit.

He asserted that a massive rally will be held in Sonepur where more than one lakh people will congregate.

“Since the BJD has become weak, the BJP will come to power after the upcoming election. This meeting will set a milestone for the BJP's electoral goal. His stay for one and a half days will be inspiring for all BJP leaders and workers in Odisha,” he observed.

BJP’s National Vice President and party’s Lok Sabha candidate for Kendrapara Baijayant Panda said, “The atmosphere is in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Odisha is going to have a double engine government after the elections.”

Addressing a meeting of the panchayat-level party workers and leaders at Patakura on Sunday, the BJP stalwart said that campaigning for the party will be more intensified and the atmosphere will be more favourable after visits of Central BJP leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adiyanath and Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma in the coming days. The campaign will hot up.

“The NDA will cross 400 seats at the Centre and a double-engine government is going to be installed in Odisha,” he asserted.

"The other parties are carrying out virtual campaigning through AI and by uploading some pictures and videos prepared with the help of computers. Campaigning is not done that way," he observed.
