‘Shifting of deities during Jagmohan work not necessary’
Puri: There is no need to shift the deities of Sri Jagannath temple for repairing the Jagmohan of the 12th century shrine.
This was informed by the chief superintending engineer of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) RS Jamuel after examining the concerned part of the temple today. The repairing work will be commenced after Odia month Karttik, he said after holding a meeting at local ASI.
Notably, the Jagmohan was repaired with iron bracket during Rath Yatra as the stone was in a hanging position.
