Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has made security arrangements in sensitive places and important institutions vulnerable to terrorist attacks in the state.
“Based on the overall threat perception as well as general and specific intelligence inputs received from time to time, the vital installations, monuments, protected areas and other sensitive places and important institutions located in various districts of the state, which may be vulnerable to potential terrorist attack and identified as necessary security arrangements are made accordingly,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told the assembly.
Patnaik was replying to a question of Congress member N K Das.
Stating that this is a “continuous and dynamic process”, he said the security arrangements are reviewed at regular intervals to detect any shortfall on the security front so that existing security system can be further upgraded and streamlined.
“In case of receipt of specific intelligence input regarding probable terrorist attack in a police station area, there is multiple augmentation in the security arrangements made in the area including augmentation of the existing manpower of the concerned police stations,” Patnaik said.
Marine police stations in the coast are also engaged in the security arrangement, he added.
