Mumbai: Two Odia girls – Pallavi Sethi from Rourkela and Binita Biswajeeta from Balasore – came out with flying colours at a recent art competition held at the international level. While Pallavi topped ‘Group-E’, Binita excelled in the newly-introduced ‘Online’ category.
The competition, which is aimed at inspiring the upcoming generation of students for art, has garnered huge popularity across the world over the years. In its 41st edition this year, the contest invited entries from six different categories covering students from pre-school to Plus-II level, a media release said.
If the organisers Kokuyo Camlin and Big Bazar are to be believed, the competition this year had participation from 75 lakh students from across the globe. In 2011, the contest with 48.5 lakh participants was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest art competition in the world.
The awards were given away to the winners by noted film actor and theatre personality Om Puri at a glittering function held in Mumbai recently.
