Cuttack: Some former students of Ravenshaw University on Saturday met Vice Chancellor Prakash C. Sarangi and submitted a memorandum to find solutions to 14 issues.
The students discussed with the VC on mental harassment of students and women faculty members in the campus, issues pertaining to admission process and financial condition of the varsity.
Satyabrata Panda, former president of Ravenshaw Students’ Union, said, “Today the former student leaders of the university talked to the VC on three issues. It was decided in the meeting the former student leaders will form a committee to probe the veracity of the information appearing in the media and the university authorities have assured us to provide all kind of support regarding this. Besides, the university is take action if any complaint will receive regarding appointment and admission irregularities. Strict action will be taken against financial indiscipline in the varsity.”
Sarangi further stated, “In the coming days former student leaders will organise a convention if action is taken by the university authorities as promised to us today in the meeting.”
Notably, Ravenshaw University has been in news following allegation of mental harassment was levelled by three women faculty members against some staff of the varsity.
