The three Railway staff have been arrested under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence).

In a major development in the investigation into the train accident at Bahanaga in Balasore of Odisha, the CBI today reportedly arrested 3 persons. 

The probe report further stated that lapses at multiple levels in the Signal & Telecom department were responsible for this accident. 

Even though one month has passed now, the memories of the horrific train mishap are still fresh in the minds of passengers, who survived the accident, and locals who had launched a massive rescue operation.

In its suggestion, the federation has given more emphasis to safety than punctuality.

The incident was reported at Ondagram railway station. Rail operations on Kharagpur–Bankura–Adra line has been halted.

According to sources, while Rs 1 crore assistance was sanctioned from the MP fund for the development of Bahanaga area, Rs 1 crore was approved from Railways fund for the development of Bahanaga hospital.

The Bahanaga triple train mishap death toll has gone up to 292 after a resident of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

A man from Bihar, who was injured in the Bahanaga triple train tragedy, breathed his last on Saturday while undergoing treatment at the Cuttack SCB Medical College & Hospital’s Trauma ICU.

According to sources, four wagons derailed while the goods train was on its way to Vedanta plant in Lanjigarh from Ambadola in Kalahandi on a special route.

As per sources, several wagons of a goods train carrying aluminium from Damanjodi to Angul got separated from the middle when the train was crossing Kesinga station. 

Pasvan was earlier shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in critical condition on the day of the train accident on June 2.

Amiruddin’s younger brother Musa was working as a mason in Bengaluru. Musa was returning home in Assam and was scheduled to deboard at Howrah. However, the train he was travelling met with an accident on June 2 at Bahanaga in Balasore district. So far, the family is unaware of whether Musa is dead or alive.
