The home of the Holy Trinity and the pilgrim city of the state, Puri, is likely to get a new name soon. As per reports, several names are being considered for the same such as - ‘Shree Jagannath Puri’ or ‘Shree Jagannath Dham Puri’. On Tuesday, a proposal for the same was discussed during the meeting of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

SJTA verified the documents and declared those to be fake. The administration denied any approval of land transfer in favour of any person. Following that the SJTA on Monday filed a complaint with the Singhadwar police in connection with the matter, informed sources.

In view of prevailing pandemic and anticipated rush during observance of Durga Puja special precautions are being taken at temples and places of worship. The Puri Srimandir will remain closed for the devotees on the occasion of Durga Puja on October 15.
