The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Saturday increased the price of Holy Patitapabana Bana, which is fixed atop the Srimandir in Puri, by Rs 100.

According to sources, now devotees will have to pay Rs 300 to purchase the sacred flag after the ‘Olagi’ (flag changing) ritual.

A decision in this regard was taken during the SJTA finance sub-committee meeting. The change in price will come into effect from today, sources informed.

“The Patitapabana Bana which flies atop of the Srimandir is sold to devotes at SJTA office. It was sold at Rs 200 and its price was not revised in the last 10 years. Now we have increased the price of the flag by Rs 100 and it will be now sold for Rs 300,” said Jitendra Kumar Sahu, SJTA Administrator (Ritual).

“The change in price will come into effect from today,” Sahu added.
