State-level serological surveillance to estimate age-wise Covid prevalance will be undertaken in 12 districts of Odisha from August 29 to September 15.  

The Odisha government has asked the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar to conduct state-level serological surveillance in 12 districts. 

The 4th round of Serosurvey conducted by RMRC revealed that over 85 percent health workers in three Odisha districts have developed COVID antibody.

The study is seen as significant because it will analyse the implementation of 'One Health' intervention model, and the study may recommend routine vaccination against the lethal disease  

The national sero-survey for Covid-19 which will be undertaken in three districts of Odisha to determine the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the community will include all children above the age of 6 years.  

RMRC Bhubaneswar has been requested to carry out a follow up to assess the hospitalization and severity among COVID-19 positive individuals post vaccination as compared to non-vaccinated COVID-19 positive individuals
