A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the hike will be effective from January 1, 2023. The decision of the salary hike will benefit as many as 12,784 junior teachers in the State.

After Ministry of Home Affairs notified the rules for implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), thousands of refugees living in Kendrapara, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur districts of Odisha expressed their happiness.

Patnaik did not clarify the party that will emerge as the sole opposition. Many wonder if he is referring to the Congress, of which he was once a member. “This situation will arise because the BJP was asserting itself as the opposition and an alternative. In case of an alliance, the BJP will be not there as an opposition,” he added.
