A BJP delegation has reviewed the flood situation in the State and submitted a report to the party’s state unit president Samir Mohanty. The party also released a complaint letter describing the flood a man-made disaster.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said the state is developing more playgrounds at school level, and stadiums at block level to groom sportspersons from the childhood.
Briefing about the implementation of various central schemes in Odisha, he said the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through Ambedkar Foundation, is providing Rs 2.5 lakh for inter-caste marriages while the Odisha government too has a similar scheme but there is a need to promote it on a higher scale.
Slamming the ruling BJD, the Parliamentarian said, “There are two types of solution – a temporary and a permanent one. Even after reigning for over 20 years, the Odisha government has miserably failed to make a permanent solution. They are only interested in temporary solutions."
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today conducted an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas in Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara. Following the survey, CM Naveen Patnaik announced 15-day relief to flood-affected people; and also directed for damage assessment within 7 days of floodwaters receding, and extension of assistance within 15 days.

The high-level clearance authority (HLCA) of Odisha government headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday approved the Adani Group's proposal to set up two projects -- a 4 MMTPA integrated alumina refinery and a 30 MMTPA iron ore (value addition) project.
