A century for Naveen Patnaik's constituency in murder! 100 people killed during BJD’s rule in Hinjili

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi revealed in the Assembly that Naveen Patnaik's Hinjili constituency witnessed 100 murders during the 24 years of BJD rule. The response came to a query from BJP's Pradyumna Kumar Nayak. Only two convictions occurred out of 100 cases, with many pending or acquitted. Additionally, Ganjam district faced 37 police encounters, injuring 63 cops and resulting in 41 criminal fatalities.

Former CM Naveen Patnaik’s Hinjili constituency witnessed as many as 100 murders during his rule. In the 24 years of BJD rule, the Assembly constituency witnessed as many as 100 murders, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi informed the House on Monday.

Replying to BJP lawmaker Pradyumna Kumar Nayak’s question, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made the shocking revelations in the Assembly. While Ganjam has allegedly turned into a den of criminals operating as political activists, the staggering number of murders has come as a shocker for all.

As per CM Mohan Majhi’s reply, the Hinjili constituency witnessed as many as 100 murders with the arrest of 328 people. Shockingly, out of the 100 cases, there are only 2 cases where the accused has been convicted.

Police Encounters In Ganjam District

Meanwhile, 69 cases are still pending in courts while the accused were acquitted in 22 cases. The CM also opened up on police encounters in Ganjam district. 

“The Ganjam district witnessed at least 37 cases in which there was an exchange of fire between the police and the criminals,” the CM revealed.

“In the 37 cases, at least 63 cops have sustained bullet injuries while 41 criminals were encountered,” the CM gave a written reply in the Assembly. 

No comments of the BJD could be obtained over the CM's reply in the House.
