The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reiterated that no forecast has been made regarding possible cyclone. IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar said that the agency has not issued any kind of information or made any forecast for cyclone so far.

Director General of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Wednesday dismissed all rumours surrounding a possible cyclonic storm. He said there is no possibility of formation of cyclone over the Bay of Bengal in the next seven days. Hence, there is no threat of cyclone to Odisha.

India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Monday informed that no forecast has been received for cyclone in the next 15 days.

IMD’s Bhubaneswar centre today predicted that the intensity of rain will increase in the State from October 1.

Conditions are favourable for the onset of southwest monsoon over Odisha in the next 48 hours.

Conditions are becoming favourable for the onset of monsoon in Odisha in the next 4 to 5 days, said IMD Bhubaneswar.

The system lay centred about 170 km west of Car Nicobar, 1270 km southeast of Visakhapatnam and 1300 km south-southeast of Puri, the weather agency informed through a tweet.
