In view of prevailing pandemic and anticipated rush during observance of Durga Puja special precautions are being taken at temples and places of worship. The Puri Srimandir will remain closed for the devotees on the occasion of Durga Puja on October 15.

Security has been heightened in the millennium city ahead of Dussehra festivities. As many as 32 platoons of police forces have been deployed in Cuttack to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines during Durga Puja celebrations.

A detailed security plan has been finalised and 100 officers along with 150 home guards from other districts have been mobilised. Around 20 aid posts will be set up and focus will be given on sector-wise patrolling and security at vulnerable and communally sensitive locations in the city.
