Usually, Covid-19 cases start seeing an upward trend in Odisha within 3 to 4 weeks of the rise in the number of cases in Delhi, said Bijay Mohapatra, the State Health Services Director on Thursday.
Earlier, Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar had said that some studies have shown that the fourth wave of Covid-19 may start in June-July and last till September, and the state is prepared to face it.
The Odisha government on Tuesday ordered all local administrative authorities to enhance precautionary surveillance measures as several states in the country stare at a fresh surge of Covid cases which has triggered concerns over a fourth wave of the pandemic.
