The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has fielded Congress leaders like Anshuman Mohanty, Jatani MLA Suresh Routray’s son Manmath Routray and Pradeep Majhi in Kendrapara, Bhubaneswar and Nabarangpur respectively.
BJP leader Golak Mohapatra said, "The BJD should first announce the names of the candidates for 147 Assembly seats. Why the BJD is having a headache for our candidates. Is the ruling party waiting for imported leaders? That is why it is not announcing the candidates for the remaining 75 seats.”
The Congress has not at all come out with its lists of candidates for LS and Assembly seats. In certain seats, the three parties have adopted a wait-and-watch policy, though they say that their candidates have been selected.
The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is trying its level best to retain its Kantamal seat this time. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have also started firing on all cylinders to capture the conch part’s fort.

Congress veteran Bhakta Das said, “The party will first announce the names of its nominees in 60 Assembly seats where our candidates lost in 2019. The leaders who are still attached to grassroots workers will be given priority.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest that actress Swara Bhasker is said to be one of the candidates that Congress is considering for the Mumbai North Central seat.
