The election season is around the corner and the political parties are making every attempt to woo the voters by roping Bollywood celebrities. If reports are to be believed, veteran actor Govinda is currently in talks with Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde to be Shiv Sena’s candidate from the Mumbai North West seat.

Earlier in 2004, Govinda had won from Mumbai North on a Congress ticket, breaking BJP’s five-term streak. However, the actor’s political career did not last long as he was criticised for not giving enough time to politics.

On the other hand, popular Bollywood actress Neha Sharma may enter politics, her father Congress leader Ajay Sharma hinted. Hailing from Bihar, the actress may fight the elections from Bhagalpur.

“Congress should get Bhagalpur, we will fight and win the seat. If Congress gets Bhagalpur, I would want my daughter Neha to contest, since I’m already MLA from here. But if the party wants me to fight, I will do that,” ANI quoted Ajay Sharma.

For the unversed, Neha Sharma is known for movies like Crook, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, Tum Bin 2 and Mubarakan. She is also a social media star with over 21 million followers on Instagram.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that actress Swara Bhasker is said to be one of the candidates that Congress is considering for the Mumbai North Central seat. Reports also state that the other candidate who might get the Congress ticket is veteran actor Raj Babbar.
