Reliable sources said a three-member team of the ED led by its joint director visited the IT department office on Tuesday and a formal announcement about the ED probe into the huge cash seizure from liquor distilleries is expected soon.

Country liquor manufacturing has been going on in Bolangir for decades while Badev Sahu & Sons has over 100 country liquor units. Many wonder as to why the liquor-making license was being renewed in the name of one person over the years.

The exact amount of seized money will be revealed by the Income Tax Dept DG through a press meet only after the counting process is over.

Swinging into action, Titilagarh police intercepted the vehicle near Saintala and arrested the accused. The vehicle was seized and the driver was also detained.

The fake teachers have been identified as Alma Tappo, Sanjit Pani Mahananda, Biranchi Nayak and Minmayee Panda. Action was taken following verification of their certificates which turned out to be fake.
