A passenger bus overturned near Chandili Pahad in Bolangir district, injuring three. Locals and police conducted rescue operations, with the injured hospitalized.

Bus carrying passengers loses control, overturns in Odisha

A passenger bus lost control and overturned near Chandili Pahad area under Sindhekela police station in Bolangir district on Saturday. The incident left as many as three passengers injured.

The bus was en route from Bolangir to Sindhekela via Chandotara when it lost balance and fell off the road. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported among the other passengers, although three individuals sustained injuries.

Local people rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. The injured passengers were rushed to the nearby hospital.

Sindhekela police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

A day before, as many as 17 passengers were injured when a private passenger bus overturned near Sariganda Chhak in Daspalla, Nayagarh district. 

At least four of the injured passengers are in a critical condition. The bus was en route to Bolangir when the mishap took place.

The bus lost balance and fell off the roadside while taking a turn. Locals rushed to the spot and helped pull out the injured.

Emergency services were alerted, and the injured passengers were first admitted to Daspalla Hospital before being shifted to the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital.
